Academic Research Unit

Unit Description


It is a unit under the Vice Deanship for Educational and Academic Affairs, which coordinates, encourages and develops scientific research efforts at the Common First Year Deanship.


Unit Objectives


1.    To coordinate the Common First Year Deanship scientific research efforts.
2.    To boost the research capabilities of the Common First Year Deanship faculty members, researchers and students.
3.    To submit proposals to the deanship's academic departments that support the deanship research plans and programs.
4.    To propose and support ways to benefit from research expertise and the Common First Year Deanship scientific research results that address community's issues and problems.


Unit Duties


1.    To supervise the activities related to expanding research, and increase its efficiency and effectiveness.
2.    To supervise the development activities aimed to develop the capabilities of the faculty members and adjuncts in the field of scientific and applied research.
3.    To develop the research strategy and plan and set mechanisms for the implementation at the deanship level.
4.    To develop and strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members and researchers of the deanship.
5.    To coordinate between the scientific departments of the Common First Year deanship to conduct joint complementary studies and research that take into account the frameworks and objectives of interdisciplinary and thematic studies in order to serve society's issues.
