Community Work Unit
The Community Work Committee operates under the direct supervision of the Development and Quality Vice Deanship at the Common First Year Deanship and seeks to cooperate and develop effective community partnerships governed by clear and public policies and in coordination with relevant beneficiaries inside and outside the deanship in the fields of research, advisory and awareness-raising. The significance of community service at King Saud University is that it comes second after teaching and scientific research and seeks to improve the quality of life by activating community initiatives and nurturing them with constructive inputs to reach excellence in service delivery in the deanship.

Our Objectives
1. Strengthening the role of the university in achieving Saudi Arabia's vision of serving community and solving its problems.
2. Contributing to the community work policies and processes.
3. Developing a unified regulatory framework governing the Deanship's community service efforts.
4. Establishing a community work culture in accordance with the current needs and trends.
5. Enhancing the participation and documentation of (faculty members, employees, students) and the like in community service.
6. Promoting the policy of community investment for the benefit of the Deanship and community.
7. Monitoring and evaluating the impact and effectiveness of community work on community.
8. Improving university community work activities continuously.
9. Benefiting the community from the university’s human and material potentials.
10. Directing scientific research to serve the Kingdom's social and cultural life.
Our Duties
1. Focalizing the deanship’s presented or planned community work initiatives and programs.
2. Preparing an annual community work plan for the Common First Year Deanship and following up its implementation, and submitting the necessary reports thereon.
3. Reviewing the requirements and criteria for institutional academic accreditation (standard 8) of community partnership.
4. Preparing and documenting the Common First Year Deanship community work evidences including policies and procedures.
