Course Description

This course develops the university skills e.g.  academic skills, communication skills, and personal-skills of the First Common Year students at King Saud University.

Course Major Goal

This course aims to develop the academic skills, communication skills, and personal-skills of the First Common Year students at King Saud University, and their application in their university life.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the students are expected to:

  1. understand and utilize the processing information skills in their learning process through remembering.
  2. utilize effective study skills in their university life.
  3. use the learning tool box skills in their university life
  4. apply communication skills in the university environment in the best optimal way.
  5. design research instruments and differentiate between them.
  6. utilize the research information areas in preparing academic research papers.
  7. understand research writing skills and embrace its ethics. 
  8. practice scientific research skills in the university context according to the research writing standards.
  9. employ future planning skills in their university life.
  10. possess flexible thinking skills and be able to use them depending on the context
  11. compare between critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills.
  12. possess and market self-discovery skills.

By the end of this course, the students are expected to:

  10. possess the ability to diversify their thinking.
  11. have the ability to develop his thinking.
  12. distinguish between critical thinking and creative thinking skills.
  13. use self-discovery skills for self-promotion.
