About the department
It is one of the educational and academic entities, under the direct supervision of the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs contributing to the development of undergraduate skills in research, thinking and learning, computer skills and its applications, health and physical education, and knowledge of the basics of entrepreneurship, thus enabling students to continue their university studies.
Objectives
- Developing the content of academic plans and programmes for the Department courses throughout the academic year
- Delivering the content of academic plans and programmes for the Department courses throughout the academic year
- Assessing the performance of both the students and faculty throughout the academic year
- Implementing the electronic learning system throughout the academic year
Duties
- Ensuring the functioning of the Department's educational, academic and administrative processes
- Guiding and following-up with the course coordinators on the objectives of the educational process
- Making and following up on the academic, educational and administrative plans of the Department's staff
- Supporting the use of educational technologies in the Department’s courses
- Assessing the academic, educational and administrative performance of the Department’s faculty
- Selecting faculty through application of the Department’s recruitment procedures
- Preparing a variety of assessment methods to verify students' acquisition of the skills
- Presenting periodic reports to the Vice Dean for Educational and Academic Affairs on the functioning of the Department and its courses and the challenges it encounters
